Data Explorer: Feature Overview

With the Data Explorer, information that was previously available only to Tendril's experts is now at the fingertips of utility Data Scientists, Program Managers, and Marketers. Query massive amounts of data, learn demograhic information about your customers, layer on Tendril's Models to gain insight into behavioral characteristics and influences, and save that segment as an Insight.

 Terminology

  • Dimensions: These are the columns of your data, which may be physical (exist as columns in the database) or logical (such as a calculation or translation of actual data)

  • Measures: Aggregations and calculations across one or many rows, such as a Sum, Minimum, Maximum or Average

  • Group (when you click the row): shows up in the data table. This data will impact your visualization

  • Filter: Limits for your data, which behave differently when you are filtering a Dimension vs a Measure. Note the field shows up in the filter section

  • Pivot: A way of turning a dimension into several columns, allowing for exploring across multiple distinct groups. Note how data table changes

  • Search: search for dimensions or models
